Great Moments In Film – The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

Now for something completely different. A little story: I first saw The Rocky Horror Picture Show during the summer before 7th grade. Needless to say, I didn’t really get it. It was during this year which the movie was celebrating it;s 20th anniversary. VH1, when it was kinda cool, would play it seemingly once a weekend along with a documentary. I finally got it. So much that the following Halloween, a cheap movie theatre was playing midnight showing. I went. Alone. I was brave, but I had an absolutely great time. The next night, I brought a friend. I mean, how could we not have a blast? The movie encourages you to yell profanities and throw stuff!

The following scene is the introduction of the film’s key character, Dr. Frank-N-Furter (the brilliant Tim Curry). I’m amazed at how many sites consider this clip to be “NSFW” as there isn’t any nudity, sex, swearing, violence (though some is implied)…aside from, well you’ll see. Be warned, as I said before, this is something different. If you don’t know what to expect, you might be a little shocked (if you’re a prude, that is).

This is a shockingly hard clip to find, so I had to go with Hulu. Unfortunately it cuts the very end for some reason, but I think you’ll all get the gist of what’s going on here.

Enjoy!
