Great Moments In Film – 12 Angry Men (1957)

Another one of my favorites, 12 Angry Men is just a terrific movie. It deals with the murder trial of a young minority male, but it almost exclusively showcases the twelve jurors as they argue over the case. It’s a claustrophobic film, the jurors are cramped into a small room on an alternatively hot and humid to a rainy day.

All the characters are unique amongst themselves. That’s the beauty of it. This scene shows one going on a racism fueled rant and how the rest of the jurors (who have had enough of this particular man’s rhetoric) deal with him. More often than not, actions speak louder than words. The great thing is that the character takes heed to what he’s eventually told by another juror…even when it’s time to vote on the verdict.
