Great Moments In Film – Rocky (1976)

Rocky is one of the best sports movies of all time. You have the classic underachieving underdog versus the cocky (but VERY good) champion. It’s a film that wraps you up and sucks you in. You really get involved in the story, especially during the boxing match that occurs in the climax.

This clip is the famous training montage: the one that set the standard for sports movies that were to follow. It really speaks for itself. The music is iconic and the running of the steps is the stuff of film legends. Nice little bit of trivia, the street vendor that tosses Sylvester Stallone the apple was not part of the movie originally: he really thought Stallone was running and decided to give him an apple for free. Also, what’s up Philly? You moved the famous Rocky statue from it’s rightful spot? C’mon, son.

Enjoy!
