Great Moments In Film – Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989)
Yeah, I went there. Needless to say, this isn’t a great movie, but it’s a damn entertaining one in my opinion. The premise is simple: Bill S. Preston (Alex Winter) and Ted Theodore Logan (Keanu Reeves), who are as dimwitted as they come, are destined to form a music group (Wyld Stallyns) that would solve the entire planet’s problems. No, really. Unfortunately for the future, if they don’t pass their history final, Ted will be sent off to military school, causing the band to never exist and thus changing the future. I know, right?
So, the leaders in the future send Rufus (George Carlin) back in time to give them a time machine (which has the disguise of a phone booth) to help them out. They, in turn, take the time machine, go back to various points of the past, and kidnap various “historical figures” so that they can talk during their oral final. It’s very straight forward even if it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
This is the before mentioned history report. It’s probably the most epic report in this history of reports. Don’t believe me? Just watch. Wait for Abraham Lincoln’s speech. Trust me.
